DRT is a new form of customized public transportation introduced to provide convenient transit services to citizens in transportation-vulnerable areas such as rural and fishing villages. Unlike regular route buses that operate on fixed routes and schedules, DRT buses use artificial intelligence (AI) technology to adjust routes in real time based on passenger requests and operate in a ride-sharing format.

Pyeongtaek City first introduced 'Ttokbus' in May 2023 in the Godeok International New City, and has now expanded its service coverage to the rural areas of Seotan-myeon and Hyeondeok-myeon.

In Seotan-myeon, two vehicles will operate throughout Seotan-myeon and to key locations such as Jinwi Station and Songtan Market. In Hyeondeok-myeon, four vehicles will serve Hyeondeok-myeon and major hubs including Anjung Terminal, Anjung Market, Anjung Station, and the Western Welfare Town. Notably, the service will also extend to the adjacent Hwayang District, helping to alleviate transportation inconveniences for new residents in the early stages of the new city’s development.

In Seotan-myeon, the service will run from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., and in Hyeondeok-myeon, from 6 a.m. to midnight. Passengers can request a ride using the 'Ttokta' smartphone app or by phone. Upon making a request, passengers will receive information on their pick-up location, vehicle details, and estimated arrival time at their destination.

Pyeongtaek City Mayor Jung Jangsun stated, "With the operation of Ttokbus, we aim to resolve the inconveniences faced by local residents and will continue striving to provide even better transportation services in the future."
