This year's internship program ran for approximately eight weeks, from July 1 to August 22, with 28 university students participating at credit unions nationwide, including Seoul, Gyeonggi, Busan, Daegu/Gyeongbuk, Daejeon/Chungnam, Gwangju/Jeonnam, Chungbuk, Jeonbuk, and Gangwon. The program was open to all university students and those on leave of absence, regardless of major. One student was selected from each regional credit union and assigned to on-site training.
Participants gained practical experience in various areas, including ▲deposit work such as issuing bankbooks and check cards and collecting deposits, ▲loan operations, ▲member management and OnBank-related work, and ▲public relations and general affairs, thereby strengthening their hands-on capabilities. The internship program offered the benefit of waiving the document screening process once during joint recruitment by credit unions. In addition, students who excelled in their individual assignments received the same privilege and awards when applying for positions at the Credit Union Central Association.
Lee Chaeyeon, a representative graduate from Daejeon Daedeok Credit Union, shared, "Over the past eight weeks, I was able to discover my potential by learning about the diverse work of financial cooperatives. It was a valuable experience that will greatly help me as I prepare for my future career."
Woo Wookhyun, Managing Director of the Credit Union Central Association, stated, "The Credit Union Internship is a meaningful program where university students can directly experience the financial sector and grow. We will continue to be a cooperative financial institution that strongly supports the challenges and growth of young people."
