Building a Seamless Community-Based Care System through Local Partnerships
Seodaemun-gu in Seoul (District Mayor Lee Sunghun) has partnered with seven organizations and institutions representing local medical and nursing care to build the "Seodaemun-style Integrated Care" model. This is a proactive measure to establish a seamless care system in preparation for the "Integrated Care Support Act," which will go into effect in March next year.

The seven participating organizations are the Seodaemun branch of the National Health Insurance Service (Director Kim Seongsu), Seodaemun-gu Medical Association (President Kim Inju), Seodaemun-gu Dental Association (President Hong Seunghyun), Seodaemun-gu Pharmaceutical Association (President Song Yugyeong), Seodaemun-gu Korean Medicine Association (President Sa Wonchang), Seodaemun-gu Nursing Association (President Kwon Eunjung), and the Seodaemun-gu branch of the Korea Association of Home Long-Term Care Institutions (President Kim Hoyoung).
The participating organizations plan to closely link their expertise and resources to jointly design and implement "community-tailored integrated care" that breaks down the boundaries between medical, nursing, and welfare services. In particular, as the demand for care increases due to an aging population, they will focus on supporting residents in need of care so that they can enjoy a healthy and stable old age in their own homes.
