A sergeant in the Army who was found unconscious at a frontline unit in Gangwon Province has died.
According to the Army's 2nd Corps on August 23, at around 7:17 a.m. that day, Sergeant A was found unconscious at a frontline unit in Gangwon Province. Sergeant A was airlifted by military helicopter to the Capital Hospital but was pronounced dead at approximately 9:31 a.m. the same day.

Military authorities, in cooperation with civilian investigative agencies, are investigating the circumstances of the incident, considering various possibilities based on statements from the unit members.
