Lee Manhee 50th Anniversary Memorial Exhibition to Be Held Next Month
First-Ever Release of 4K Restorations
Special Screenings on 35mm Film
The Korean Film Archive announced on August 22 that it will hold the 'Timeless Filmmaker, Lee Manhee 50th Anniversary Exhibition' at Cinematheque KOFA in Mapo-gu, Seoul, from September 4 to 13, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of director Lee Manhee's passing.
The 4K restored versions of '04:00 -1950-' and 'Soldiers Without Serial Numbers' will be released for the first time, and special screenings of 'Assassin' and 'Zero Hour' will be held using 35mm film.
On the opening day, September 4, a conversation will take place with screenwriter Baek Gyeol, a colleague of director Lee. This will be followed by an oral reading event by his youngest daughter, actress Lee Hyeyoung.
