Gwangsan District in Gwangju Launches Gender Statistics Research Project
Strengthening the Foundation for Gender Equality Policies
Project to Continue Until February 2026
Gwangsan District in Gwangju announced on August 22 that it has launched the "2025 Gwangsan District Gender Statistics Research Project" to lay the foundation for implementing practical gender equality policies.
"Gender statistics" refers to all statistical data produced and presented to reflect the conditions of women and men, their social contributions, and gender-specific issues. The purpose of this research is to analyze social issues in Gwangsan District based on gender-disaggregated statistics, build a database necessary for formulating gender equality policies, and provide evidence for policy implementation.
The district will commission the research within this month and conduct the study for about six months until February 2026. Through this, it plans to diagnose inequalities by gender and secure basic data to establish data-driven gender equality policies.
