Siheung City Recruiting Foreign Residents for "Disability Activity Support Worker" Training Program
Siheung City, Gyeonggi Province, is recruiting students for a "Disability Activity Support Worker" training program for foreign residents until September 12.
This program is part of Gyeonggi Province's Lifelong Learning Opportunity Special Zone project and is designed to support the stable settlement and employment of foreign residents in the local community.
The program will select a total of 20 participants who reside in Siheung and hold F-2, F-4, F-5, F-6, or H-2 visas. The training will be held from September 15 to 19 at the Lifelong Education Center of Korea Polytechnic University.
The curriculum consists of theoretical education on human rights and professional ethics, as well as practical training on emergency response, understanding disabilities, and activity support. Those who already hold certificates as social workers, caregivers, nurses, or nursing assistants are only required to complete 32 hours of training. The course is entirely free of charge, with only the practical training fee to be paid by participants.
Cho Hyeok, Director of the Siheung Lifelong Learning Center, stated, "This program will help both the stable settlement of foreign residents and the securing of personnel in the field of disability care."
