View original imageThe Eulji Exercise is an emergency preparedness drill conducted nationwide once a year at the government level to protect the lives and property of the nation and its citizens in the event of war, incidents, or other national emergencies of similar scale. This year, the exercise is being held over four days from August 18 to 21.
On this day, Vice Chairperson Lee Jeongae, Operations Committee Chairperson Lee Jinhwan, Welfare and Environment Committee Chairperson Lee Kyungsook, and Urban Transportation Committee Chairperson Park Kyungwon were among those who attended the site visit.
First, the city council members received a briefing from relevant officials at the Chungmu Comprehensive Situation Room on the overview of the Eulji Exercise, the training situation, response posture, and the procedures scheduled for each day. They also inspected the overall emergency preparedness posture.
They then expressed their gratitude to the city officials, soldiers, police officers, and firefighters who were carrying out their duties as part of the Eulji Exercise, and offered words of encouragement to all participants.
Vice Chairperson Lee Jeongae stated, "After witnessing the process in which city officials, along with the military, police, and fire departments, conduct realistic joint training to prepare for wartime situations, I feel very reassured. Thanks to your active participation in the exercise, all citizens are able to enjoy a safe and comfortable daily life."
