Gwangju Dong-gu: Recommend the Hometown Love Donation Program and Earn Points
On August 18, Gwangju Dong-gu District announced that it is promoting and operating the "Hometown Love Donation Resident Participation Point Accumulation Program" for residents who live in the area or operate businesses there.
The "Hometown Love Donation Program" allows individuals to donate up to 20 million won per year to any local government in the country, except for the one where they are registered as residents. The "Hometown Love Donation Resident Participation Point Accumulation Program" leverages this system by awarding points equivalent to 5% of the donation amount to those who recommend the program to friends, colleagues, or acquaintances when a donation is made based on their recommendation.
The maximum number of points that can be awarded per recommendation is 10,000, and the annual limit for exchanging points for gift certificates per person is 100,000 points. Gift certificates can be chosen between Onnuri Gift Certificates and Culture Gift Certificates, and can be received either online or through the Administrative Welfare Center.
