Seoul Traditional Market Revitalization
and Sharing Ceremony
The Seoul Regional Headquarters of the Korea Federation of SMEs announced on August 18 that it held the "Seoul Traditional Market Revitalization and Sharing Ceremony" to help revive the sluggish domestic market and promote coexistence within the local community.
This event was part of the follow-up measures to the "Public-Private Partnership for Livelihood Recovery" agreement signed on July 7 between the Korea Federation of SMEs and the Federation of Korean Industries. It was organized to support small business owners and self-employed individuals facing difficulties, and to encourage the spread of voluntary private-sector campaigns.
The event was attended by key figures from the SME community, including Lim Chundae, Chair of the Planning and Economy Committee of the Seoul Metropolitan Council; Park Jongseok, President of the Seoul SMEs Association; and Jung Kyungeun, Head of the Seoul Regional Headquarters. Also present were representatives from supporting organizations and traditional markets, such as Seo Hyemi, Director of the Seoul Welfare Center for the Visually Impaired, and Choi Jaeok, President of the Saemaeul Traditional Market Merchants Association.
The Korea Federation of SMEs held a session to listen to the concerns of welfare facilities, traditional markets, and SMEs, and then delivered Onnuri gift certificates worth 10 million won to the Seoul Welfare Center for the Visually Impaired. The distributed Onnuri gift certificates are expected to help boost sales at traditional markets and revitalize the local economy.
