Gyeonggi-do Agricultural Research and Extension Services Recruiting Startup and New Farmer Trainees Under 50
Gyeonggi Province is recruiting new participants for its startup and new farmer training program.
The Gyeonggi-do Agricultural Research and Extension Services announced on August 14 that it will be accepting applications from August 18 to August 28 for the "2nd New Farmer Startup and Farming Class." The program is open to Gyeonggi residents under the age of 50, as well as those interested in returning to farming or relocating to rural areas, with a total of 15 participants to be selected.
The training will take place over four days, from September 15 to September 18. Both theoretical and practical sessions will be held at the Gyeonggi-do Agricultural Education Center and at outstanding farms in Anseong.

View original imageThe main programs include: establishing successful strategies for returning to farming or rural life; understanding farmland regulations and securing housing; pest and soil management; tours of exemplary farms; writing a rural resettlement plan; and utilizing startup funds. The curriculum also provides information and best practices related to returning to farming or rural communities.
In accordance with a business agreement among rural development agencies in the Seoul metropolitan area, citizens of Seoul and Incheon may also participate, up to 5% of the total number of participants (1 person).

Applications can be submitted through the website of the Gyeonggi-do Agricultural Research and Extension Services (nongup.gg.go.kr), by visiting the Gyeonggi-do Agricultural Education Center in person (283-33 Byeongjeomjungang-ro, Hwaseong-si), or by registered mail.
