HMNex Reports 3.5 Billion KRW Net Profit in First Half... "Expecting Improved Performance in Second Half"
KOSDAQ-listed LED manufacturer HMNex announced on the 13th that it achieved sales of 8.6 billion KRW and a net profit of 3.5 billion KRW in the first half of the year. Compared to the same period last year, sales increased by 13.5%, and the company recorded a net profit for the fourth consecutive year.
In May of this year, HMNex acquired SMI, a company specializing in semiconductor deposition process LDS (Liquid Chemical Delivery System) equipment, located in Cheongju. Starting with this semi-annual report, HMNex will disclose consolidated financial statements. SMI posted sales of 11.3 billion KRW and a net profit of 1 billion KRW for the half-year period.
Notably, SMI is expected to see a significant increase in consolidated net profit in the second half of the year, along with higher sales, as its main customer, SK hynix, is preparing to commence trial operations of the 'ultra-pure facility' M15X expansion fab in Cheongju, which will serve as the production site for sixth-generation high-bandwidth memory (HBM4).
M15X is SK hynix's next-generation DRAM production base, which will undergo trial operations starting in August and is scheduled to begin full-scale operation in November.
SK hynix plans to use M15X to meet demand for next-generation HBM until the first fab of the Yongin Semiconductor Cluster is completed in 2027.
