Art Center Incheon Launches Music Gifted Academy to Foster Future Classical Talents
On August 12, the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority announced that it will launch and operate a Music Gifted Academy, a classical music talent development program, at Art Center Incheon.
The authority will accept student applications from August 18 to 27, and will finalize the selection process through a public audition on September 6. The audition will be held in the orchestra rehearsal room at Art Center Incheon, where applicants must perform one classical piece from memory. If the piece requires accompaniment, applicants must bring their own accompanist.
The academy is recruiting for five majors: piano, violin, cello, flute, and clarinet. Eligible applicants are students from the second grade of elementary school through the third grade of middle school.
Selected students will participate in major-specific private lessons as well as group classes covering basic and advanced topics such as music theory, music history, and ear training over a period of 12 weeks starting next month. Further details can be found on the Art Center Incheon website.
