This agreement was promoted as a measure to address the 'lack of technology and R&D infrastructure and difficulties in accessing equipment' raised by companies during the 'Hwaseong City Semiconductor Major Companies Meeting' held by the city in June.
Under the agreement, the two organizations will cooperate in various fields, including fostering the semiconductor industry in Hwaseong City, utilizing the research infrastructure of the Korea Nano Technology Institute, and exchanging information to nurture talent for the semiconductor industry.
The city expects that by combining its semiconductor industry support policies with the public research infrastructure of the Nano Technology Institute, it will be able to provide practical technical support that will be of real help to local companies.
Park Nojae, Acting Director of the Nano Technology Institute, stated, "If we combine the infrastructure and demonstration capabilities of the Nano Technology Institute with Hwaseong City, where semiconductor manufacturing and equipment companies are concentrated, it will greatly help companies expand globally and achieve technological independence."
