In particular, specialized programs for people from diverse social backgrounds?such as marriage immigrants, youth, and multicultural families?are attracting attention.
Last month, a hands-on event titled "Making Handmade Picnic Lunchboxes Using Abalone and Hijiki" was held, with marriage immigrants and local residents participating together. This event provided an opportunity to share cultural diversity through local specialties.
In addition to Korean language education for marriage immigrants, the center also offers a barista certification course to support economic independence and social participation. Furthermore, the "shared childcare space" has established itself as an important facility for addressing gaps in childcare for dual-income and single-parent families.
The Wando County Family Center plans to further strengthen support for multicultural families and gradually implement policies to establish a care infrastructure that enables a better work-life balance.
