As One’s Lee Min, Memorial Altar Set Up on the 7th: "Deep Sorrow... Funeral to Be Held Quietly per Family’s Wishes"

View original imageThe funeral of Lee Min (real name Lee Minyoung, 47), a member of the female R&B duo As One, is being held solemnly. The agency expressed its condolences and announced that the release schedule for new music would be postponed.
Brand New Music, the agency, stated on August 7, "The bereaved family and all executives and employees of Brand New Music are in deep shock and sorrow due to the sudden sad news," adding, "In accordance with the wishes of the family, the funeral will be held quietly." The agency also stated, "We hope you will pray for the peaceful rest of the deceased."
As a mark of respect, Brand New Music has temporarily suspended its social media operations and postponed the scheduled release of music.
The memorial altar for the deceased was set up at Bundang Jesaeng Hospital Funeral Hall in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province from 9:30 a.m. on this day, and the funeral procession will take place at 5:30 a.m. on August 9.
Lee Min was found dead at her home on August 5. The police are investigating the exact circumstances of her death.
Colleagues expressed their condolences. Yoon Ilsang, who composed "Neomaneun Moreugil," wrote on social media, "I will always remember your uniquely beautiful voice. Working with you was always a joy." Singer Kim Hyunseong paid tribute, saying, "Min, you were truly a good person?bright, cheerful, and kind. I already miss your smile and laughter."
Lee Min, a Korean-American artist, debuted in 1999 with the first album "Day By Day" and left behind numerous hit songs such as "Neomaneun Moreugil," "Wonhago Wonmanghajyo," and "Cheonmaneyo," known for her sweet tone and sophisticated singing style.
In 2013, she married a Korean office worker two years her senior in Hawaii. In 2019, she appeared on the JTBC music variety show "Sugarman," returning to the public eye. Marking the 20th anniversary of her debut in 2020, she released the single "Aesseo" and resumed her activities. In June of this year, she released the single "Chukhahae, Saengil." Most recently, she appeared on the KBS2 music program "Park Bogum's Cantabile."
