Busan Port Authority (BPA, President Song Sanggeun) began a maritime inspection of port facilities on August 6 to prepare for localized heavy rainfall.
This inspection, conducted at Gamcheon Port, is an 'operation' aimed at checking the overall safety of port infrastructure?including major quays and drainage facilities within the port?in preparation for concentrated summer downpours and abnormal weather events.

A representative from the Port Authority explained, "We organized this inspection to identify and address vulnerable areas at risk of flooding in advance, and we are focusing our efforts on ensuring port safety by proactively preparing for extreme rainfall."
