The Gyeongbuk Office of Education (Superintendent Lim Jong-sik) announced in advance, through its official website on August 6, the planned recruitment fields (subjects), number of positions, and examination schedule for the 2026 public school teacher recruitment competitive examination.
According to this preliminary announcement, the number of candidates to be recruited for the 2026 public school teacher recruitment examination is set at 557, which is similar to the previous year (556). The recruitment quota was determined by comprehensively considering the provisional allocation by the Ministry of Education, the number of teachers retiring due to age limits or honorary retirement, as well as the numbers of students and classes.
The planned recruitment by field (subject) includes 294 elementary school teachers, 131 secondary school teachers, 48 kindergarten teachers, 23 special education teachers, 18 professional counseling teachers, 20 health teachers, and 23 nutrition teachers.
This announcement is a general guide intended to help prospective candidates prepare, and the final number of positions and detailed examination information will be officially confirmed and announced in the implementation plans scheduled to be released in September (for elementary) and October (for secondary).
