Gyeonggi Office of Education to Select Outstanding Proactive Public Officials through Public Evaluation
The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education is conducting a "public evaluation" to select outstanding public officials who have enhanced the public interest through proactive administration.
Previously, the office collected recommended cases from various agencies that demonstrated creative and active administration, and selected 15 outstanding cases in the first preliminary screening.
Based on this, from August 5 to August 12, an online public evaluation will be held through the "Sotong24" website (sotong.go.kr), allowing citizens to participate by voting online.
Each participant can vote for up to three outstanding cases. The final candidates for the main round will be determined by combining 60% of the preliminary screening score and 40% of the public vote results. Selected public officials will receive various benefits, including a commendation from the superintendent, a monetary reward, and additional points for special promotions.
The office explained that this selection process is meaningful because it goes beyond simple performance evaluation to widely promote exemplary cases of proactive administration and to spread a culture of proactive administration throughout the public sector.
In particular, by allowing citizens to directly select outstanding public officials, it is expected that the evaluation procedure will be fair and transparent, as it reflects the perspectives of policy consumers.
