This funding was provided to support research for the distribution of Gijang-type seaweed and red sea cucumber seeds that can adapt to high-temperature marine environments caused by climate change. The total support of 50 million KRW covers seaweed nutrient culture solutions, temperature controllers, loggers, and red sea cucumber tank sensors.

The research outcomes will be delivered to approximately 450 seaweed aquaculture households and about 500 female divers (najeom fishermen) in Gijang-gun.

Kori Nuclear Power Headquarters has been implementing the 'Gijang-type Seaweed Seed Production Technology Support Project' for seven consecutive years, supporting the sustainable development of the seaweed industry through the development of seed production and aquaculture technologies and variety improvement in response to rising water temperatures and the Gijang coastal environment.

Lee Sangwook, Director of Kori Nuclear Power Headquarters, stated, "We will continue to generously support projects that provide practical help to local residents and strive to take the lead in revitalizing the local economy."
