On July 9, they discovered a resident in their 90s who had lost consciousness and collapsed from heat-related illness on a road in Okgae 2-ri, Gunnam-myeon. Without hesitation, they administered immediate emergency care and saved the resident's life.
The two soldiers played a decisive role in stabilizing the resident's condition by responding calmly and swiftly even in a critical situation. The courage and sense of responsibility they demonstrated at the scene have become a model for the local community.
Sergeant Park Hyoseong stated, "Protecting the lives of the people is a natural duty for a soldier," and added, "Above all, I was truly relieved to hear that the elderly resident had recovered."
