The Suwon Paldal Police Station in Gyeonggi Province will officially open on August 5. The Suwon Paldal Police Station is a four-story building with a total floor area of 10,521 square meters, and a total of 560 personnel are scheduled to work there. These officers will be assigned to the main station, three district units?Ingyedong, Maesan, and Hwaseomun?and four police substations?Haenggung, Jiman, Godeung, and Maegyo.

View original imageAs the Suwon Paldal Police Station aims to become an advanced scientific police station, it will proactively introduce patrol robots and new bulletproof vests. At the end of this month, two patrol robots will be deployed in Haenggung-dong. These robots are shaped like four-wheeled vehicles and are equipped with cameras that rotate 360 degrees to monitor the surroundings in real time. If abnormal situations such as screams, falls, or altercations are detected, the system immediately transmits this information to the police station.
The pilot introduction of patrol robots is a proactive measure to respond to the development of robotics technology. It is part of preliminary research to set the direction for future robot development, based on the expectation that an era will soon arrive in which patrol robots work alongside humans in the field of public safety.

The Suwon Paldal Police Station will also be the first among police stations in the Gyeonggi region to supply new bulletproof vests and medium-sized shields. The new vests combine the functions of the existing field vests with bulletproof capabilities, allowing officers to wear them at all times. In particular, carbon composite materials have been used in key areas such as the neck, heart, and lungs to enhance protection against fatal injuries. In addition, medium-sized shields capable of protecting officers from attacks will be provided to strengthen field response capabilities.
