Eight Songs from "K-Pop Demon Hunters" OST Enter Billboard Hot 100 for Three Weeks
"Golden" by Huntrix Rises from No. 81 to No. 2, BTS and BLACKPINK Also Chart
Eight songs from the original soundtrack (OST) of the Netflix animated film "K-Pop Demon Hunters" have entered the US Billboard main singles chart "Hot 100" for three consecutive weeks.
According to the latest chart released by Billboard on the 29th (local time), "Golden," performed by the girl group HUNTRIX in the film, ranked second. "Golden" first entered the chart at No. 81 earlier this month, then climbed to No. 23, No. 6, No. 4, and now No. 2.
"Your Idol" by the boy group Lion Boys from the film ranked No. 12, HUNTRIX's "How It's Done" ranked No. 19, and Lion Boys' "Soda Pop" ranked No. 21. The duet "Free" by Lumi (HUNTRIX) and Jinwoo (Lion Boys) entered at No. 30, while HUNTRIX's "What It Sounds Like" debuted at No. 31.
"Takedown" ranked No. 39 for the HUNTRIX version, while the version featuring TWICE members Jeongyeon, Jihyo, and Chaeyoung ranked No. 76. All eight songs rose in rank compared to the previous week.
The "K-Pop Demon Hunters" OST album climbed two spots from the previous week to reach No. 3 on the Billboard main albums chart, the "Billboard 200."
"K-Pop Demon Hunters" tells the story of the girl group HUNTRIX, who fight against evil spirits, and their rivals, the boy group Lion Boys. The film was released on Netflix on June 20 and has gained popularity, ranking No. 1 in the global film category.
Meanwhile, many K-pop artists also appeared on the Billboard charts. BLACKPINK's Ros? and Bruno Mars' duet "APT." remained on the "Hot 100" for 40 consecutive weeks, ranking No. 35, while BLACKPINK's new song "Jump" entered the chart for two consecutive weeks at No. 53. TWICE entered the chart for the first time with "Strategy" at No. 92.
On the "Billboard 200," BTS's live album "Permission to Dance on Stage Live" debuted at No. 10. This marks the eighth time BTS has ranked in the top 10 of this chart. All tracks from the album occupied the top 10 spots on the "World Digital Song Sales" chart.
