Busan and Tsushima Museums Launch Exchange... Friendship Agreement Signed Between Busan Museum and Tsushima Museum
The Busan Museum is partnering with the Tsushima Museum in Japan to promote the transmission of cultural heritage and academic exchange between the two countries.
The Busan Metropolitan Government (Mayor Park Hyungjoon) announced on July 27 that the Busan Museum officially signed a friendship and exchange agreement with the Tsushima Museum at the Busan Museum at 5:00 p.m. on July 24.
Through this agreement, both sides have decided to formalize a cooperative framework in the field of culture and the arts between the two museums. Based on the long history of exchanges and mutual understanding between Korea and Japan, they plan to pursue practical exchanges and joint development in various areas, including the preservation and exhibition of cultural heritage and academic research.
Until now, the two museums have cooperated informally, focusing on exhibition visits and curatorial work. With this agreement, they plan to expand the scope and content of their exchange and transition to a long-term cooperative system.
The agreement includes provisions for: ▲ mutual use of collections and exhibition exchanges ▲ joint investigations and academic research ▲ promotion of personnel exchanges ▲ mutual utilization of research outcomes ▲ cooperation in public relations.
On the day of the signing ceremony, Busan Museum Director Jung Eunwoo and Tsushima Museum Director Machida Kazuto attended and personally signed the agreement.
The Busan Metropolitan Government expects this agreement to lead to practical collaboration, including joint excavation investigations, joint exhibitions, and personnel exchanges. It also plans to enhance the expertise of museum staff while contributing to the expansion of the international cooperation network.
