Hearing Report for SME Minister Nominee Han Sung-sook Adopted by Bipartisan Agreement
The National Assembly adopted the personnel hearing report for Han Sung-sook, the nominee for Minister of SMEs and Startups, on July 23, following an agreement between the ruling and opposition parties.
On the morning of the same day, the National Assembly's Trade, Industry, Energy, SMEs and Startups Committee held a plenary session and, with bipartisan agreement, passed the motion to adopt the hearing report for Han Sung-sook.
So far, hearing reports have been adopted by bipartisan agreement for eight nominees: Han Sung-sook, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Koo Yoon-cheol, Minister of Foreign Affairs Cho Hyun, Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Kim Jeonggwan, Minister of the Interior and Safety Yoon Ho-jung, Minister of Environment Kim Seonghwan, Minister of Science and ICT Bae Kyunghoon, and Commissioner of the National Tax Service Lim Gwanghyun.
For three nominees?Minister of Justice Jeong Seongho, Minister of Health and Welfare Jeong Eun-kyeong, and Minister of Employment and Labor Kim Younghoon?the hearing reports were adopted under the leadership of the Democratic Party, despite opposition from the People Power Party.

Han Sung-sook is a former business executive who previously served as CEO of Naver. At the confirmation hearing held on July 15, Han stated, "Based on the experience and knowledge I have accumulated in the private sector, I will do my utmost to establish a foundation for the growth of SMEs, venture businesses, and small business owners."
