Gyeonggi-do to Hold Marine Waste Upcycling Exhibition Until November 7
Gyeonggi-do will hold a marine waste upcycling exhibition.
On July 22, Gyeonggi-do announced that it will host an upcycling art exhibition titled "Blue Monster (Warning from the Sea)" on the first floor of the Gyeonggi Marine Safety Experience Center in Ansan. The event aims to raise awareness among residents about the seriousness of marine waste and to foster a shared sense of responsibility for marine environmental preservation.
This exhibition, which runs until November 7, has been designed not only for viewing but also as an environmental education experience. It encourages children and family visitors to reflect together on the sea and the environment.
The theme of the exhibition is "Sea monsters created from marine waste, and the story of children striving to protect the memories of the sea from these monsters."
The exhibition space features interactive displays, including sculptures of marine waste shaped as sea monsters and works created by children who are entrusted with protecting the value of the sea in the future.
In addition, local artists (Yang Kura and Clean Hikers) will present upcycled artworks made from marine waste such as discarded buoys, abandoned fishing nets, and plastics collected directly from the beach.
The exhibition will also showcase works created by elementary school students who participated in marine environmental education, as well as everyday upcycled products such as bags, mini vases, and scrubbers.
