KORAIL Suspends All KTX and Regular Trains on Dongdaegu?Jinju and Gwangju Songjeong?Mokpo Routes
Decision on Resumption to Be Made Tomorrow
KTX on Gyeongbu Line Operating Normally
KORAIL announced that, as of 6:00 p.m. on July 17, it had completely suspended operations on major trunk train lines due to nationwide heavy rainfall.
On the Gyeongbu Line, which runs from Seoul to Busan, all regular trains have been suspended. However, high-speed trains (KTX) are currently operating normally along the entire route.
On the Gyeongjeon Line from Dongdaegu to Jinju and the Honam Line from Gwangju Songjeong to Mokpo, both regular trains and KTX services have been halted.
Operations of regular trains have also been suspended on the Cheonan?Iksan (Janghang Line), Hongseong?Seohwaseong (Seohae Line), and Osong?Jecheon (Chungbuk Line) sections.

KORAIL stated, "On the morning of the 18th, we will deploy track inspection vehicles to confirm safety, after which we will decide whether to resume train operations."
Some trains that are currently operating are also experiencing delays overall, as they have reduced speed due to the wet tracks.
KORAIL urged passengers, "Since service status may change depending on weather conditions, please be sure to check the operation status in advance through the 'KORAIL Talk' app, the website, or the railway customer center before using the trains."
Tickets for trains whose operations have been suspended will be automatically refunded in full without any cancellation fee.
