President Lee Cancels July 18 Busan Town Hall Due to Second Day of Heavy Rain to Assess Damage
President Lee Jaemyung has canceled a planned town hall meeting in Busan to assess the damage caused by ongoing heavy rainfall.
On July 17, the presidential office announced the cancellation of the Busan regional development town hall meeting, which was scheduled to take place in Busan on July 18 following similar events in Honam and Chungcheong.
President Lee had planned to visit Busan and hold a town hall-style meeting with local residents to discuss regional development strategies. In particular, the agenda included key issues such as relocating the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries to Busan and developing the Arctic shipping route, both of which are major pledges of President Lee.
