Under this agreement, handrails will be installed in 15 households identified as vulnerable to safety risks in the community.
The council is actively identifying individuals at risk, while the Self-Support Center is responsible for the installation of the handrails, showcasing a notable example of public-private cooperation for community-based welfare. The project is evaluated as reflecting a commitment to not only providing physical safety measures but also reaching out to neighbors in blind spots and offering practical assistance.
Lee Sangyeon, chair of the Cheolma-myeon Community Security Council, emphasized, "We will work even more proactively to identify and recommend those neighbors who are in desperate need of support so that essential assistance can reach them."
Lee Seonju, head of the Gijang Regional Self-Support Center, stated, "We will do our utmost to ensure that vulnerable groups can enjoy safer and more comfortable daily lives."
Shin Juyeon, head of Cheolma-myeon, said, "This agreement is a good example of a customized welfare model that reflects the characteristics of the local community," adding, "The public and private sectors will work hand in hand to focus on improving the quality of life for residents."
