Eunpyeong District Establishes Dedicated Bulletin Board for Middle-aged Adults to Enhance Policy Information Accessibility
On July 14, Eunpyeong District in Seoul announced that it has established a dedicated bulletin board for middle-aged and older adults on the district office website, becoming the first among Seoul’s autonomous districts to do so, in order to improve access to policy information and expand participation opportunities for this demographic.
This new menu was launched in line with the newly established Middle-aged Hope Team and related ordinances this year, with the aim of systematically supporting the so-called “second act of life” for middle-aged and older adults, and enhancing online-based policy promotion and information accessibility.
The “Middle-aged” menu, located under the “Welfare” category on the Eunpyeong District Office website, includes introductions to programs supporting the second act of life, an overview of the Second Act of Life Committee, information on vocational training and life planning school programs for middle-aged adults, details on participation programs offered by other organizations, the “Middle-aged Ieodream(Dream)” bulletin board, and links to related organizations’ websites.
In particular, the “Middle-aged Ieodream(Dream)” bulletin board serves as a participation information platform for middle-aged and older adults who wish to continue their activities and personal growth after completing educational programs. It offers follow-up opportunities such as volunteer work, social contribution jobs, and lifelong education, thereby fostering ongoing connections with the local community.
With the launch of this new menu, Eunpyeong District expects not only to provide policy-specific information, but also to strengthen its function as a tailored online communication channel for the target group. The district also anticipates that it will encourage repeat participation from graduates and policy participants, and further vitalize social contribution within the community.

Kim Mikyung, Mayor of Eunpyeong District, stated, “Operating the middle-aged bulletin board is a digital-based policy platform designed to provide practical support for life transitions among middle-aged and older adults.” She added, “Going forward, Eunpyeong District will continue to expand various forms of support so that the middle-aged can continue learning, activities, and social contributions, and proactively design the second act of their lives.”
