People Power Party's Lee Inseon Vows to Ignite Innovation in the "Heart of Conservatism" Daegu...Elected as Daegu City Chapter Head
The Daegu City Chapter of the People Power Party announced on July 13 that Congressman Lee Inseon has been elected as the new head of the chapter.
The Daegu City Chapter of the People Power Party held the first Operations Committee meeting of 2025 at 10 a.m. on July 12 in the auditorium on the 5th floor of the party headquarters in Beomeo-dong, Suseong-gu, Daegu. This followed the withdrawal of Congressman Kwon Youngjin, who had registered as a candidate and demanded a primary.
The Operations Committee meeting was attended by Kang Daesik, the outgoing Daegu City Chapter head, Congressman Kim Giwoong, Congressman Lee Inseon, Cho Jaegu, head of Nam-gu District in Daegu, Kim Daegwon, head of Suseong-gu District in Daegu, Lee Mangyu, chairman of Daegu City Council, and other committee members. They unanimously elected Congressman Lee Inseon, representing Suseong-gu Eul district, as the new head of the Daegu City Chapter.
Lee Inseon, the new chapter head, previously served as president of Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science and Technology, vice president for external affairs at Keimyung University, vice governor for economic affairs of North Gyeongsang Province, and head of Daegu Gyeongbuk Free Economic Zone Authority. She is currently chairperson of the National Assembly’s Gender Equality and Family Committee.
Lee Inseon’s one-year term will begin on July 17, following the approval of the Central Emergency Response Committee of the party.
In her acceptance speech, Lee stated, "I sincerely thank the Operations Committee members for electing me as the next head of the Daegu City Chapter on behalf of all party members. I feel a heavy sense of responsibility taking on this important role in difficult times. Now is a time when we need to restore trust, achieve organizational unity, and develop strategies for the future. I will strive to ignite the spark of change and innovation in Daegu, the heart of conservatism, so that we can achieve victory in the local elections."
