Students from the P.A.R.K aquarium club, affiliated with the College of Fisheries Science at Pukyong National University, participated in the program. The participating students were: Lee Gihan and Lee Woori from the Department of Resource Biology; Moon Junhyuk, Lee Yujin, and Park Sewon from the Department of Aquaculture and Applied Life Science; and Nam Gyueon, Kwon Yoonji, Kim Suhyeon, Jang Seungwoo, and Jeon Dawon from the Department of Fisheries Life Medicine.
The program was designed as an experience-based activity tailored to the academic level and interests of each grade. For first and second graders, activities included designing their own eco-bags with the theme of reducing single-use products. Third and fourth graders participated in terrarium making and presentations. Fifth and sixth graders engaged in dissection and exploration experiments using anchovies. Through these activities, the participating students provided education donation activities tailored to elementary students, utilizing their academic expertise.
Park Sewon, president of the P.A.R.K club, said, "I felt rewarded seeing the children show interest in marine life and actively participate. Based on the club's academic knowledge, I hope to continue engaging in various education donation activities that contribute to environmental protection and ecological education."
Since its establishment in 2023, designated by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity, the Gyeongsang Region Education Donation Hub Support Center at Pukyong National University has been operating a variety of customized education donation programs for kindergarten, elementary, middle, and high school students in Busan, Ulsan, Gyeongnam, Daegu, and Gyeongbuk. By collaborating with institutions, companies, and individual donors, the center is creating an education donation ecosystem linked to experience-based career and character education. It is also taking the lead in bridging regional educational gaps and spreading a culture of social contribution across society.
