Icheon City Signs Agreement with Kukkiwon for Icheon Rice Support and Joint Promotion
On July 10, the city of Icheon, Gyeonggi Province, signed a business agreement with Kukkiwon (World Taekwondo Headquarters) for the support and joint promotion of Icheon rice.

View original imageThe agreement ceremony was held at the Kukkiwon headquarters in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, where both parties agreed to collaborate on the support and joint promotion of Icheon rice and related processed rice products.
Under the agreement, the city will provide Kukkiwon with "Imgeumnimpyo Icheon Rice" and a variety of processed rice foods. In addition, both organizations will jointly promote and market Icheon rice by utilizing the Kukkiwon name and CI. Kukkiwon will also arrange performances by its official taekwondo demonstration team at events hosted by the city.
Kim Kyunghee, Mayor of Icheon, stated, "This agreement will serve as an opportunity to promote the healthy value of rice to the younger generation through the dynamic sport of taekwondo," adding, "We also expect a positive impact on encouraging rice consumption nationwide."

Lee Dongsup, President of Kukkiwon, also commented, "Through this agreement, I hope both organizations will be able to achieve growth through ongoing and close mutual cooperation."
