Heavy Rain Warning Issued for Southwestern Seoul... Heavy Rain Advisory for Northwestern Region
The Korea Meteorological Administration announced that, as of 6:50 p.m. on July 8, a heavy rain warning has been issued for the southwestern region of Seoul, including Gangseo-gu. The affected districts are Gangseo-gu, Gwanak-gu, Yangcheon-gu, Guro-gu, Dongjak-gu, Yeongdeungpo-gu, and Geumcheon-gu (the southwestern region).
A heavy rain warning is issued when rainfall is expected to reach 90mm or more within three hours, or 180mm or more within twelve hours. Previously, a heavy rain advisory had been issued at 6:30 p.m., but it was upgraded to a heavy rain warning. Under a heavy rain warning, people are advised to refrain from going outside or driving vehicles.
At 6:40 p.m., the Korea Meteorological Administration also issued a heavy rain advisory for the northwestern region of Seoul, including Eunpyeong-gu, Mapo-gu, Seodaemun-gu, Yongsan-gu, Jongno-gu, and Jung-gu. A heavy rain advisory is issued when rainfall is expected to reach 60mm or more within three hours, or 110mm or more within twelve hours. Caution is needed regarding accidents such as river flooding.
