Shinhan Bank's '7.7% Legendary Savings Account' Sells Out in Four Days... Additional Sales Begin on the 7th
Shinhan Bank announced on July 6 that its high-interest savings product commemorating its 43rd anniversary, the '1982 Legendary Savings Account,' sold out in just four days. The bank will begin additional sales of the product starting July 7.
The '1982 Legendary Savings Account' is a one-year, flexible savings account that allows deposits of up to 300,000 won per month. Both individual and sole proprietor customers are eligible to open the account. The product offers a base annual interest rate of 3.0%, with a preferential rate of up to 4.7 percentage points, for a maximum annual rate of 7.7%. The preferential rates are as follows: 4.2% per annum for new Shinhan Card (credit) holders or those who meet three months of usage requirements; 3.5% per annum for customers who meet six months of payment requirements with Shinhan Card (credit or debit); and 0.5% per annum for customers who set their cheering team in Shinhan's 'Sol Baseball' app.
Shinhan Bank has also launched a related event with total prizes worth 198.2 million won to commemorate both the product launch on July 1 and the founding of the KBO League in the same year.

A Shinhan Bank representative stated, "This new 43rd anniversary product was launched to share greater enjoyment with baseball fans, and thanks to strong customer response, all 100,000 accounts sold out quickly." The representative added, "As a gesture of gratitude to our customers, we have decided to offer an additional 100,000 accounts for sale starting from the anniversary date, July 7."
