Gwanak District Opens Byeolbitnaerinchun Children's Water Playground... Popular Family Summer Destination in the City
Open Until August 31
Gwanak District in Seoul has opened the Byeolbitnaerinchun Children's Water Playground as a family summer destination in the city, and will operate it until August 31.
The Byeolbitnaerinchun Children's Water Playground features a variety of water play facilities, including umbrella fountains and arch water features, allowing children to cool off under refreshing streams of water. Amenities such as changing rooms and first aid supplies have been provided to enhance convenience for families, and foldable sunshades have been installed so that adults can relax and dip their feet in the cool water.

In addition, detailed water quality tests are carried out every two weeks, and safety personnel are on site during operating hours to prevent accidents.
The water playground is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and closes in case of rain. After 50 minutes of operation each hour, there is a 10-minute break. The location is 1642-7 Sillim-dong, which offers excellent accessibility as it is near Sillim Station on subway line 2 and Seowon Station on the Sillim light rail line.
The surrounding area includes the Sillim Station commercial district, Sinwon Market, Sundae Town, and the Seowondong shopping street, providing a variety of food and entertainment options for families even after water play. Other popular attractions include the Starlight Naerincheon Tunnel Fountain, which opened last May, and the Seoul International Garden Expo currently being held at nearby Boramae Park.
Meanwhile, on July 19, the district plans to further expand summer urban healing spots by opening the Nakseongdae Children's Water Playground, the Gwanaksan Park Water Playground, and four newly renovated water play areas.
