Gyeonggi Province Makes Real Estate Agent Online Training Free of Charge
Starting July 1, Gyeonggi Province has made continuing education for licensed real estate agents available free of charge through its online platform.
This measure aims to improve educational accessibility for real estate agents and to encourage participation in mandatory training, thereby helping to prevent rental scams and create a safer real estate transaction environment. Gyeonggi Province expects that, as a result, real estate agents will actively implement the 'Gyeonggi Safe Jeonse Project' in their professional practices.
The Gyeonggi Safe Jeonse Project is a voluntary social movement among real estate agents, focusing on tasks such as refusing to broker risky properties.
Continuing education for real estate agents is mandatory every two years, and this year, approximately 12,000 licensed and affiliated agents within the province are required to participate.
Gyeonggi Province was the first in the country to offer in-person training for real estate agents free of charge in 2015. This year, the province has expanded the free offering to include online courses, thereby making the entire continuing education process completely free of charge.
The training is provided through the Gyeonggi Lifelong Learning Portal, GSEEK. After logging into the website, agents can search for "Real Estate Agent Continuing Education" in the search bar to enroll in the course.
The courses are also conveniently accessible via the mobile GSEEK app, allowing agents to participate anytime and anywhere, without restrictions of time or location.
The curriculum consists of three subjects, each with eight sessions, totaling 24 sessions. Major topics include practical real estate brokerage (such as special contract terms for commercial properties, houses, and apartments) and education on preventing real estate transaction accidents, in connection with the Gyeonggi Safe Jeonse Project.
In particular, the core of the program is case-based practical lectures and information on legal and policy measures to prevent rental scams, providing content that agents can immediately apply in their daily work.
The educational content was developed through a process that included scriptwriting, video production, internal review, and demonstration. Experts in practical and legal fields participated as instructors. Gyeonggi Province expects increased participation in the training and plans to continuously improve the quality of the education by incorporating user feedback in the future.
