Satisfaction with Sejong City Branch Line Buses and Personal Mobility Devices Remains Low
Sejong City and Multifunctional Administrative City Construction Agency
to Establish Relevant Measures Within This Year
Sejong City and the Multifunctional Administrative City Construction Agency conducted a survey through the Sejong City App and other channels from June 5 to June 15 to develop transportation improvement measures that citizens can directly feel.
A total of 1,450 people participated in the survey, including 888 citizens, 400 employees of the Government Sejong Complex, and 162 Sejong City employees. The survey topics included: ▲ analysis of citizens' travel patterns ▲ satisfaction and usage status by transportation mode ▲ suggestions for public transportation improvement policies.
According to the survey results, satisfaction levels by transportation mode were 65% for walking, 58% for public bicycles, and 55% for BRT, with more than half of respondents giving positive evaluations. However, satisfaction was relatively low for branch line buses (39%) and personal mobility devices (17%), due to dissatisfaction with bus intervals and routes, as well as parking and safety issues, respectively. Additionally, 78% of respondents reported that their commute took less than 40 minutes, while only 7% said it took more than 60 minutes.
When asked about satisfaction with commute times using Sejong City's transportation system, 52% were satisfied, 21% were neutral, and 27% were dissatisfied. As for the measures needed to improve transportation, respondents mentioned diversifying bus routes (30%), reducing bus intervals (27%), and improving road traffic (26%). In addition, 71% of respondents indicated their willingness to participate in campaigns to improve the local transportation system, such as promoting public transportation and flexible work arrangements.
The two agencies plan to jointly develop transportation improvement measures that address citizens' inconveniences by the end of this year, based on the results of this survey.
