"Handwritten Manuscript of Sim Hun's Sangroksu" Registered as Chungnam Provincial Cultural Heritage
Announcement of Plans to Register Han Hun's Relics as Cultural Heritage
On June 20, Chungnam Province announced that it would register the "Handwritten Manuscript of Sim Hun's Sangroksu," housed at the Sim Hun Memorial Hall in Songak-eup, Dangjin City, as a provincial registered cultural heritage.
The handwritten manuscript of Sangroksu is believed to be Sim Hun's original draft, as differences have been identified compared to the serialized novel published in the Dong-A Ilbo newspaper. Additionally, as the manuscript bears the logo of the Joseon Joongang Ilbo Company, it holds historical significance as a primary source.
An official from the province stated, "We will continue to discover, properly preserve, and utilize modern and contemporary cultural heritage of historical value within the province."
On the same day, Chungnam Province also announced its plan to register the relics of Han Hun as provincial registered cultural heritage.
The province plans to gather opinions during the notice period and determine whether to proceed with registration after review by the next Provincial Cultural Heritage Committee.
