Busan Office of Education Announces Regular Personnel Appointments for Local Officials on July 1, Totaling 565 Positions
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Kim Seokjun) announced its regular personnel appointments for local government officials, effective July 1, 2025, on June 19.
This round of appointments is the first regular personnel reshuffle since Superintendent Kim Seokjun took office in the sixth popularly elected term, and it is being evaluated as focusing on organizational stabilization and strengthening on-site support.
The total number of personnel changes is 565, consisting of 46 promotions, 288 transfers, 100 cases of leave or reinstatement, 3 new hires, and others such as honorary retirement.
Among the promotions to Grade 5, a total of 8 individuals were promoted in fields such as educational administration, engineering, librarianship, and facilities. Assignments were made by comprehensively considering both individual job competencies and the characteristics of each institution.
For transfers, the transfer point system was applied alongside various factors such as individual preferences, place of residence, job skills, and institutional characteristics, operating under the principle of "the right person in the right place."
One notable aspect is the expansion of rotational transfers between the education office and schools (institutions) to strengthen organic connections with the field, as well as the selection of talented individuals with both job skills and experience for key positions.
Superintendent Kim Seokjun stated, "The core is to establish a fair personnel system that rewards hardworking public officials," adding, "We will continue to pursue transparent and clean personnel policies that satisfy both the organization and individuals."
