The New Idea Institute, led by Cho Sangho, former Deputy Mayor for Economic Affairs of Sejong City and newly appointed member of the National Policy Planning Committee, announced on the 19th that it will hold a June special lecture at 7 p.m. on the 23rd at the main auditorium on the third floor of the Dodam-dong Complex Community Center.
The lecture will be held under the theme "Happy City Curitiba" and will feature a presentation and Q&A session with Park Yongnam, Director of the Center for Sustainable City Studies. Director Park has explored the possibilities of people-centered cities and a sustainable world through his works such as "Dream City Curitiba" and "Robin Hood of the City."
Cho Sangho, head of the institute, stated, "Director Park Yongnam is a pragmatic researcher who has worked to create people-centered, sustainable green cities by introducing initiatives such as BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) and public bicycles." He added, "As Sejong is still under development, now is the time when Director Park's ideas and experience, citizen participation and solidarity, and changes in public sector awareness are all needed."
Founded in April 2023, New Idea aims to build a sustainable society that harmonizes socially, economically, and environmentally. The special lectures organized by New Idea, which is committed to both research and action, are open to all citizens.
