Bank of Korea Gangnam Branch to Gradually Suspend Currency Services Next Month for New Building Construction
Bulk Coin Exchange Available Until July 4
General Currency Exchange for the Public Available Until July 18
The Bank of Korea Gangnam Branch announced on June 19, 2025, that it will sequentially suspend currency-related services starting next month, ahead of the groundbreaking for its new building scheduled for October.
Bulk coin exchanges by advance reservation will be available until July 4, and general currency exchange services for the public will be available until July 18. A Bank of Korea official stated, "In the future, currency exchanges, including bulk coins, can be conducted through the Bank of Korea headquarters."
Meanwhile, treasury and foreign exchange transaction services will be handled at the Gangnam Branch's temporary office, which will be located at the Icon Samsung Building in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
