On June 18, the Democratic Party of Korea assessed President Jae Myung Lee's first overseas trip by stating, "He has shown the international community that the Republic of Korea has returned."

View original imageChief Spokesperson Park Sanghyuk said in a written briefing that day, "President Jae Myung Lee successfully completed his first official diplomatic schedule just two weeks after his inauguration and is now on his way home," adding, "The Republic of Korea has finally returned to the world stage with confidence."
He went on to say, "This was a meaningful diplomatic event that demonstrated how we overcame the 12·3 insurrection and firmly safeguarded our democratic republic," and evaluated, "It was also a stage where President Lee successfully drew the first blueprint for pragmatic diplomacy that prioritizes the national interest, which he has consistently emphasized."
President Lee visited Canada for two days to attend the Group of Seven (G7) summit, met with foreign leaders including those from Japan and the United Kingdom, and then began his journey home.

Chief Spokesperson Park stated, "As President Lee has taken his first step in summit diplomacy, he will wisely address current issues together with the people," and added, "The Democratic Party of Korea will also firmly support President Lee to build a proud Republic of Korea on the world stage."
