"It Felt Unpleasant to Eat"... 'Ifresso Ice Cup' Exceeds Bacterial Standards, Recalled
The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety announced on June 16 that the edible ice product "Ifresso Ice Cup," sold by Emart24, was found to exceed the standard limit for bacterial count.
The Ifresso Ice Cup, manufactured by Bluepine in Asan, Chungnam Province, is currently being withdrawn from sale and recalled by the Asan City Hall. The recalled batch was manufactured on May 28, 2025, and comes in 180g packages.
The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety requested that sellers who have the recalled product in stock stop selling it and return it to the distributor, and that consumers who purchased the product return it to the designated recall locations.
The ministry also announced that "Frozen Malabar Spinach" from Vietnam, currently being sold on the market, was found to contain pesticide residues exceeding the permissible limit, and is therefore being withdrawn from sale and recalled. The product was imported by K1 Trading, based in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province, and was packaged on January 2, 2025.

Additionally, the ministry reported that WJ Food, a livestock product processing company in Gwangju, is recalling "Ryu Siyun Hanwoo Hanmari Gomtang" after its in-house quality inspection found that the product exceeded the standard limit for coliform bacteria. Products with a consumption deadline of June 23, 2025, are subject to recall.
