Presidential Office: Cabinet Meeting to Be Held on 19th... Second Supplementary Budget Bill to Be Submitted
The government will convene a Cabinet meeting on the 19th to submit the second supplementary budget bill.
On the 16th, presidential spokesperson Kang Yoojung stated in a written briefing, "President Lee Jaemyung, less than two weeks into his term, is pushing for the formulation of a supplementary budget to restore livelihoods, even while preparing for major events such as the G7 summit." Kang added, "The 26th Cabinet meeting will be held on Thursday, June 19, and the agenda will include the second supplementary budget bill for 2025."
The second supplementary budget is expected to total 20 trillion won and will reportedly include differentiated payments of up to 500,000 won per person as livelihood recovery support. In addition, the budget is expected to allocate around 500 billion won to support the issuance of local currencies.

Meanwhile, last month the government passed a 13.8 trillion won essential supplementary budget aimed at responding to disasters and tariffs. The total supplementary budget, combining the first supplementary budget passed last month and the second supplementary budget to be submitted this month, is expected to exceed 30 trillion won.
