Offering Experiences Such as Sensory Play with Natural Materials and Ecological Interaction
The Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education announced on June 10 that it will officially launch a "Visiting Customized Experience Event" for infants aged 0 to 2 within the province starting this month.
This program is part of the pilot project for the integration of early childhood education and care. It will begin in Yeosu and then be implemented in 33 daycare centers across 14 cities and counties, including Goheung, Wando, and Sinan. A total of 779 infants are expected to participate.

In particular, this project was established to ensure equal educational opportunities for infants in remote island regions and rural fishing and farming villages. This is the first time that the Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education has separately planned and implemented a pilot project specifically for infants aged 0 to 2.
A daycare center official said, "It has been difficult to operate due to a decrease in enrollment, but we have high expectations because we can now offer experience events that were previously only accessible in cities directly at our center."
The Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education plans to expand the target age for the customized experience event to include children aged 0 to 5 starting in the second half of the year. The office expects that this project will serve as a foundation for the future Jeonnam-style integration of early childhood education and care.
