S-Oil to Recruit AI and Carbon Reduction Technology Startups with Up to 15 Million Won in Support
AI-Based Refinery and Petrochemical Plant Operations
One-on-One Communication with Selected Startups... Applications Open Until June 24
S-Oil is partnering with Gwanak-gu in Seoul to discover promising startups. The company will pursue technological collaboration in key areas such as smart plants, energy transition, and carbon reduction.
On June 10, S-Oil announced that it is recruiting startups with innovative technologies through the 'Gwanak S-Valley Open Innovation Program.' Applications can be submitted via the integrated startup support platform 'K-Startup' until June 24. After document and presentation screenings, four final companies will be selected on July 2.
The selected companies will receive up to 15 million won in commercialization funding, as well as follow-up support such as expert mentoring and investment connections. S-Oil will review both technological feasibility and business potential through one-on-one communication with its staff. The company plans to continue cooperation through technology proof-of-concept (PoC) using its plant infrastructure, joint commercialization, and investment review.
The recruitment fields include: smart plant technologies such as AI-based automation of refinery and petrochemical plant operations; energy transition, such as bio-based alternative materials and eco-friendly fuels; carbon reduction, such as carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS); and other areas including industrial robots and energy-saving technologies.
