Moment of Silence Siren to Sound Across Jeonnam at 10 a.m. on Memorial Day, June 6
Honoring the Spirit of Patriotism
of Patriotic Martyrs and Fallen Heroes
Jeonnam Province announced on June 5 that, in commemoration of the 70th Memorial Day ceremony to be held on June 6, a one-minute moment of silence siren will sound across the province at 10:00 a.m.
The moment of silence siren is intended to honor the noble patriotism of the patriotic martyrs and fallen heroes who devoted and sacrificed themselves for the nation. The siren will be sounded using 136 civil defense alert siren devices installed throughout the province as part of the commemorative event.
Kim Misoon, Director of Safety Policy at Jeonnam Province, stated, "This siren is not a civil defense evacuation alert for an enemy air raid. Therefore, residents should not be alarmed, but rather observe a solemn one-minute moment of silence and then return to their daily activities."
