"No Concern About Tsunami Damage"
An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.1 struck off the southeastern coast of Hokkaido, Japan, at around 5:37 p.m. on May 31. According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, the earthquake originated at a depth of 20 kilometers.
NHK reported that while there may be slight changes in sea level along the Japanese coast due to this earthquake, there is no concern about tsunami damage.
