A daily wage worker in his 60s died after falling while dismantling a slate roof at a factory in Gimje, Jeonbuk.
At around 8:16 a.m. on May 31, Mr. A, a man in his 60s working at a red brick production factory in Hwangsan-myeon, Gimje, fell from a roof approximately 6 meters high to the ground below. Mr. A suffered fractures to both arms and other areas, and was transported to the hospital in cardiac arrest, but ultimately passed away.
The deceased was a dispatched daily wage worker and was reportedly engaged in dismantling the slate roof at the time of the accident. Police are investigating the exact circumstances of the incident, including questioning factory officials, and are also reviewing whether to apply the Serious Accidents Punishment Act.
